Vibrio Species Isolated from Clinical Specimens(1986-1987)

Abstract
From July 1986 to June 1987 Vfluvialis, V.vulnificus, V.parahemolyticus were
identified from the clinical specimens in Dept. of Clinical Pathology, Korea University Hospital.
Vfluvialis was identified from the bile specimen of a patient with obstructive jaundice.
Vvulnificus were identified from blood or bullae lesions in three patients with sepsis. All patients were men with their age over the forties. One patient had liver cirrhosis with chronic active hepatitis and another patient had D.M.. The patient who had liver disease has eaten the raw fish one day prior t6admission.
V.parahemolyticus were identified from stool specimens in two events of food poisoning outbreaks, July 1986 and June 1987, respectively.
V.fluvialis showed resistant to ampicillin, intermediate to carbenicillin, & and susceptible to the other Gram(-) antibiotics. Vvulnificus showed resistant to colistin & kanamycin, intermediate to amikacin and sensitive to the other Gram(-) antibiotics. V.parahemolyticus in case 6 showed resistant to ampicillin, carbenicillin and cepha¡þlothin, otherwise sensitive to the other gram negative antibiotics.
